The Greater Memphis Soccer Association was officially founded in 1979, and originally consisted only of two men's divisions. GMSA created its Coed League in the Fall of 1993. It originally started with just four teams in a single division, and has expanded on multiple occasions since that time. Prior to the Fall 2008 season, the previously-existing Memphis Women's Soccer Association (MWSA) joined GMSA, and created our Women's Divisions. Depending on the number of teams entered each season, the women's teams play in either one or two divisions divided by skill level.
