For over 2000 children in the Antelope Valley, The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Antelope Valley have been havens of encouragement; places where kids can find support and resources to discover and achieve their full potential as individuals. Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens of our communities. If the Boys & Girls Clubs of Antelope Valley did nothing more than provide a safe place where kids could hang out, that would be worthy of community support.

Just signed up 1st grader son and all appears well thus far. However, there was a "miscommunication" on the first day.

My son waited over an hour in the school office waiting to be picked up, since no one guided him to the school onsite B&G Club meeting location.

Until I received a call from the school staff asking to pick up my son, is when I clarified that he was signed up for the after school program, then, he was escorted to the program.

It is my opinion that this issue should not have happened and that both the school and program should have in effect a solid communication protocol and system in place.

Although this is not a grave matter, it is concerning, and I hope no school-program oversights occur.
