HELLO AND WELCOME TO JOAN’S TOT SPOT!!!

Thank you for considering JOAN’S TOT SPOT as your child’s home away from home. I am pleased you are interested in my service of providing a loving, safe, and nurturing family atmosphere for your child in my country home. Parents, enjoy the value of having your child learn and grow while exploring nature and all the sights, sounds, and smells of our five acres. We have miles of walking trails and a large garden and berry patch. We have an expansive playground with a sandbox, climbers, swings, and a barn full of riding toys. The children can pet the goats, bunnies, and chickens, or give the horses a treat.


The mission of Joan’s Tot Spot is to provide a high quality child care experience in a child directed learning environment utilizing nature, and the High Scope philosophy of children as active learners. Children learn best from activities they plan, actively carry out and review themselves while adults act as supporters and facilitators of their development. Through key experiences such as initiative, social relations, creative representation, movement and music, language and literacy, logic and mathematics, adults extend the child’s activities to developmentally appropriate practices.

By providing respect and positive guidance while promoting independence, your child will build self confidence. The children will gain social and emotional skills to make good choices in their activities and behavior through these real life experiences that only a family child care home can provide. We will give consistent, personalized care and attention while providing a fun and stimulating environment. Your child and family will become a part of my extended family as they grow and develop in a caring place to call their own. Rest assured that we will provide a memorable and interesting day for your child so that you can have peace of mind while you are away at work.
