Out of School Time at Providence Youth Services is so much more than play and social time. Each program is also academically aligned with the students' school day lessons and curriculum. Through engaging and experiential enrichment classes, the students build on what they are learning during the school day in a way that is definitely not "more of the same". Teachers from the school are employed by the YMCA along with trained YMCA youth counselors to engage students interest and build their learning. Students who attend the Providence YMCA Youth Services Out of School Time programs increase their literacy levels and do better in school.
