The school is located directly behind West Pine Middle School and was built with a number of "green" characteristics including abundant natural lighting, natural drainage areas, low maintenance landscaping and a number of other energy management and saving features. West Pine Elementary will open with 19 classroom teachers, 4 in Kindergarten and 3 in the remaining grade levels. The school will be equipped with the latest in technology as each classroom will be a "Smart" classroom having a Smartboard, projector, teacher laptop, document camera, and four laptops for student use. There is a well equipped computer lab in the school along with a mobile laptop cart that houses 25 laptops which can be utilized anywhere in the school thanks to the wireless capabilities.
