Yerwood Extended Day Program serves approximately 100 children each year in grades Kindergartan through 5th. The goal of the program is to improve academic performance and promotion rates and reduce the number of students requiring remedial summer classes. By working closely with each child's elementary school, individual progress is tracked and measured using report cards, Degrees of Reading Power (DRA)/Connecticut Mastery Test (CMT) scores, daily attendance records and behavior reports. This model requires a strong partnership between the Center, the schools, and the parents of the children in the program.
