Sherwood Forest Elementary, built in 1991, is located in the southwest corner of Federal Way near the Tacoma/Pierce County border. School staff, parents, PTA, and community members work in partnership to support the success of all students in an atmosphere that encourages high academic standards, and respectful, responsible, and cooperative behaviors. Sherwood Forest’s vision is to create a safe, positive and supportive school environment. Children are encouraged to reach their full potential as self-directed learners at home, at school, and in their community. n addition to our strong content focus on reading, writing, and math, Sherwood Forest offers other areas of enrichment including dynamic General Music and Health and Fitness programs. Our PTA sponsors a school-wide Accelerated Reader Program, Book Fairs, Assemblies, and Family Nights and invites participation of all students in the annual Science Fair.
