Curiosity about the world comes naturally to children.
That’s why at YMCA Chesapeake School-Age
Child Care, we strive to expose children to a variety
of new and exciting experiences. In our state-
licensed, Before and After-School programs, the
scheduling and pacing of the child’s day is up to the
child. The program provides 5-12 year olds with the
chance to unwind, explore and experiment,
discover new ideas, work cooperatively in small
groups and enjoy large group activities. Given the opportunity to make choices about what to do and when, builds their problem-solving skills while they learn to respect the differences and similarities within their own communities.
