The EMU Bright Futures program at Ypsilanti Community High School strives to empower students to be leaders and self-advocates in their communities by giving them a voice in our program. Through the development of leadership roles in our program, students provide valuable feedback and help shape the kinds of clubs and opportunities offered. Our daily routine consists of a community building activity and snack, time to complete homework, followed by clubs. Some clubs that have been offered in the past are: Sports Leadership, Cooking on a Budget, Anime, Global Expressions (storytelling/poetry), Photography, and Leadership. Clubs change four times a year, but the most popular clubs, such as sports and cooking, are offered throughout the year. We have tutoring available during homework time as well as qualified staff that help students with their schoolwork. Our program is offered Monday - Thursday from 2:50-5:50pm; students choose which clubs to join, based on their own interests, and have multiple clubs to choose from daily. EMU Bright Futures YCHS welcomes students from all of the Small Learning Communities and provides a safe, fun, and youth driven environment.
