EMU Bright Futures at Taft-Galloway Lower Elementary School

4035 Gloria, Wayne, MI 48184
The Bright Futures program at Taft-Galloway is a fun, safe, and engaging place for students in grades two through four. Bright Futures meets Monday through Thursday for 3 hours after school. The program consists of homework time, academic enrichment, and clubs. During homework time students are given the opportunity to complete homework assignments with the help and encouragement of volunteers and staff members. Academic centers are offered which complement school day curriculum and use hands-on strategies. A variety of clubs are offered throughout the year. In the past clubs have included various types of art, clay & sculpture, musical instruments, technology, movie making, sports, Lego challenge, mad scientist, CSI, and cooking. Leadership clubs and activities are also a big focus of Bright Futures. Clubs change every 4-6 weeks and we are always looking for new and exciting opportunities to bring to our students. Bright Futures programming is driven by youth voice and interests. The Bright Futures program offers several opportunities throughout the year for families to participate and engage in activities. Our six-week summer program runs Monday through Thursday from mid-June until late July.
