The EMU Bright Futures program is an engaging and exciting after-school program available at Hoover Elementary. This program serves second, third, and fourth grade students and provides a safe, enjoyable, and community atmosphere. We offer homework help, recreational club time, and academic enrichment activities that are combined with a youth-voice environment. Each week, students choose a theme based on their interests for their academic enrichment time that combines activities in reading, math, writing, science and other academic areas. In addition, there are a wide variety of activities provided to encourage students to try new things and gain new experiences in a supportive way. At Hoover Elementary, we have a large assortment of clubs for students, including karate, puppetry, math enrichment, drama, mad science, sports and games, and creative writing – just to name a few! We promote the importance of being responsible and respectful to each other and ourselves, while growing together in emotional, academic, and social development. Bright Futures also understands the significance of involving families and school staff in our program, which is why we have family events every few months to celebrate the support and community that we have built together. Our program runs Monday through Thursday from 3:20 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. during the school year. Our six-week summer program runs Monday through Thursday from mid-June until late July, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
