Brevard Aikikai was founded in 1987 by Grady Lane, Rokudan (6th degree black belt) Shidoin and chief instructor. Sensei Lane teaches traditional Aikido as handed down by the founder Morihei Ueshiba, O’Sensei (GreatTeacher) and offers classes for adults and children. Brevard Aikikai is affiliated with the United States Aikido Federation, under the direction of Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan, and the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Japan, under the guidance of the grandson of O’Sensei and the present leader of the art of Aikido, Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba.
