Sting New Mexico is a combination of two clubs located in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, NM. Albuquerque Girls Soccer Club (AGSC) was founded in 2005. AGSC was a member of Northwest Rio Grande Soccer League (NWRGSL) while most of it's teams competed in Duke City Soccer League (DCSL). In 2010, the board of AGSC agreed to become an affiliate of Sting Soccer, establishing Sting New Mexico. Sting New Mexico was also admitted as a member club into DCSL in 2010. Sting New Mexico's board voted to become a division of Sting Soccer in April of 2011. Rio Rancho Soccer Club was founded in 1976 to serve the community of Rio Rancho, NM. RRSC was a member of NWRGSL, but also fielded teams in DCSL. In May of 2011, Rio Rancho Soccer Club voted to merge with Sting New Mexico, and Sting NM West was created to serve Rio Rancho and the West side of Albuquerque. Combined with Sting NM East, which serves the greater Albuquerque area East of the Rio Grande river, Sting New Mexico offers developmental and competitive soccer options for the entire metro area.
