At Charlottesville's Laughing Dragon Kung Fu Academy, we teach a blend of traditional and contemporary Chinese martial arts. With forms and movements derived from northern Shaolin Longfist Kung Fu, northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu and northwestern Hua Fist Kung Fu, Laughing Dragon provides an exhilarating workout for both children and adults. In addition to teaching practical self-defense skills, Laughing Dragon Kung Fu builds confidence, improves fitness, increases self-esteem and reduces stress. Coordination and balance are developed by means of empty hand techniques as well as use of traditional Chinese weapons, including the staff, broadsword, spear and straight sword.
