Detail: After taking Judo in college from 1988 to 1992 and restarting his training with Tom Reiff of Charleston Martial Arts in 1998, Brian Mills started to think about opening a dojo. The dream was in his head for the next 3 years and when Brian Started his Air Conditioning Business, Answer AC & Heat, Inc., The idea of a combined space for a dojo and the business started. While teaching Judo and Jujitsu at Charleston Martial Arts for the following 10 years, Brian advanced to Sandan (3rd degree black belt ) in Judo and Jujitsu. On November 17th 2010 the dojo was leased and after careful planning and preparation Mt Pleasant Martial Arts opened its doors to the public on February 1st 2011. The mat is a real tatami from the 1986 Olympics, it covers 77 square meters of an open conditioned space, the mat is constantly sanitized to avoid mat rash. An Olympic judoka came to see the dojo and called it a clean, nice, work out space . The dojo has weight and aerobic equipment in the foyer for the students, and a relaxed atmosphere.
