Academy of Shotokan Karate is a traditional Japanese Karate School in the Columbia and Lexington area of South Carolina.

We are members of the Japan Karate Association-US and the American Amateur Karate Federation. These memberships are the assurance of quality and authenticity of traditional Japanese martial arts.

We provide the opportunity to learn traditional karate, self-defense, as well as providing an opportunity to increase your physical fitness.

We are a group of traditional karate practitioners that have developed a tremendous training regime under the guidance of the American Amateur Karate Federation, Japan Karate Association-US, and Japan Karate Association-SAR.

Our purpose is to promote traditional karate in a healthy, body friendly manner. The Academy of Shotokan, LLC is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine. We approach traditional karate by applying proper biomechanics and exercise physiology with the end goal of training healthy.
