A teacher’s role is to recognize what tools students need to achieve their goals and determine the best way to provide students with those tools. We recognize that every student brings his or her own unique needs and talents and so students are encouraged to enhance their skills to the degree of their own choosing.

An all too common mistake that many martial arts instructors make is that they attempt to mold students into a preconceived image of what they think the student should become. They end up setting goals for students that are not the same as the students' goals. Consequently, students end up unsatisfied with their experience and stop training. Student's who train here will not experience this type of teaching.

Our dojo is a place of learning where students are taught that Karate training is a privilege requiring them to approach their study seriously and for the right reasons. Anyone wishing to train here should be aware that the only barrier for entry is a student’s own ability to control their ego, to remain disciplined, and to be respectful.

We honor the traditions that Goju Ryu was founded upon, and our teachers do not make a living from teaching Karate.
