Welcome to MTMA!! - This is a grass roots program that nurtures, empowers and enriches the lives of youngsters from ages 8-15 through dynamic mentoring practices. As an experienced and certified school-teacher, mentor, martial artist and traveled sociologist, I have developed highly effective mentoring practices that specifically address the needs of many of todays’ young people. In the midst of unprecedented social pressures, fragmented communities and negative influences of the media, I see it necessary that our young boys and girls connect to their true self and participate in the world around them. I have developed four separate areas of influence and coaching: Academic, Physical, Social/Emotional and Self.

Rooted in holistic practices and a fusion of proven philosophies, this personalized program provides an enriching experience that will allow a youngster to realize his/her potential while developing their knowledge and abilities. While Physical (Capoeira) and Academic (verbal and math coaching) sessions are co-ed, our other two sessions (Social/Emotional and Self)are specifically geared toward addressing separate needs of boy and girls. We strive to incorporate many diverse mentored experiences that instill wisdom and strength into our mentees, no matter what their personality or background is. It is my hope that our service grows in the community and provides a space for boys and girls ages 8-15 to nurture their divine gifts and take on their true roles as sisters, brothers, sons and daughters of our families and communities.
