Born the year of the dragon, John Gaddy embraced martial arts training in elementary school. Presently, he has 40 of years martial arts experience. His studies include; karate, judo, kickboxing, tai chi, tae kwon do, western boxing, kobudo, and afrikan martial sciences.

John Gaddy has attained the level of 7th degree black belt in Shito-Ryu Karate-Do, one of the four major styles in the world, and 6 th degree black belt in Koshiki Karate-Do, a method of training derived from the samurai. He is also a certified instructor in Afrikan martial arts.


An accomplished competitor Shihan Gaddy won numerous competitions throughout the U.S. and internationally, coached several teams,Garden State Games Karate Black belt team, USA Koshiki Karate-Do Team. In 1985, he made history in Brisbane, Australia by being the first American to ever win the World Koshiki Karate-Do Championship (WKKF). In addition, he currently holds the world record for jump rope fitness.


Shihan Gaddy's passion for martial arts is apparent in every class he teaches. He has a unique and compassionate approach in teaching children, as well as adults. He views each student as an individual with the goal of improving one's self through martial arts.
