We are practitioners and students of Nihon Goshin Aikido (“Nihon Goshin Aikidoâ€). Nihon Goshin Aikido was founded in Japan by Master Shodo Morita and brought to the United States by Shihan Richard Bowe in 1962.
It is a style of Aikido incorporating certain self-defense enhancements taken from Judo,Aiki-jutso, and Shoto-Kan Karate. It is taught as a classical Japanese martial art - with students proceeding through 5 formal ranks (or kyu) before entering yudansha (black belt) rank.
